Dutch artist Noble is stepping confidently into a new era with the release of her latest single, “Ugly Heart,” a vibrant country anthem that blends infectious energy with a powerful message of self-worth. The track marks another milestone in the singer-songwriter’s evolving journey, showcasing a newfound artistic confidence that feels both authentic and refreshing. With its catchy hooks, spirited instrumentation, and unapologetic attitude, “Ugly Heart” positions Noble as an emerging voice within the contemporary country-folk landscape.

Long before embracing country music, Noble had already established herself as a talented storyteller. Raised in the Netherlands, she developed a deep connection to music at an early age and first gained wider recognition as a semi-finalist on The Voice Kids Belgium. Over the years, she steadily refined her songwriting and performance skills, exploring different genres while searching for the sound that best reflected her identity. That journey led to the release of her cinematic pop-rock debut album Silence in 2022, which generated more than 800,000 combined streams through standout tracks such as “All I Wanted” and “Creeping.”

As her creative vision matured, Noble shifted toward a more introspective folk-pop approach on her EP True Calling. The project proved to be a turning point, helping her uncover a deeper understanding of both her artistry and personal growth. While she initially believed she had found her destination, Noble now sees the EP as the beginning of a much larger journey. It was through that process of self-discovery that she ultimately found her home in country and folk music.

Released on May 8, her dreamy country-folk single “chasing space” served as the first glimpse into this exciting new chapter. The song introduced listeners to a warmer, more organic sound inspired by artists such as Kacey Musgraves, Shania Twain, and Ella Langley. Now, with “Ugly Heart,” Noble expands on that foundation by delivering a bold, empowering statement wrapped in a lively three-minute-and-three-second package.

Created alongside producer Paul Aiden, the song emerged from a blank-canvas writing session that quickly took on a life of its own. Inspired in part by Louis Theroux’s documentary The Manosphere, “Ugly Heart” addresses toxic behavior, superficial values, and performative masculinity. Rather than approaching the subject with bitterness, Noble channels her observations into a confident anthem about establishing boundaries and refusing to settle for anything less than genuine human connection. The result is a song that feels timely, relatable, and deeply personal.

With songwriting credits shared between Josephine Nobel and Paul Aiden, and mixing and mastering handled by Reese Szabo, “Ugly Heart” captures Noble at a pivotal moment in her career. More than just another release, the single represents an artist fully embracing her creative instincts and stepping into a genre that feels tailor-made for her strengths. If “chasing space” opened the door, “Ugly Heart” confidently walks through it, proving that Noble’s country-folk chapter may be her most compelling yet.
