Americana, country, and blues artist Iyla Elise is back with her tenth single, “Ain’t Linear”, a song that proves she’s not just following a path—she’s forging her own. Known for her relatable lyrics, soulful delivery, and melodies that linger long after the first listen, Iyla continues to cement herself as one of the most compelling emerging voices in Americana music.

Hailing from a small town on Virginia’s east coast, Iyla’s music is a masterclass in storytelling and emotional honesty. Drawing inspiration from legends like John Denver, Billy Joel, Norah Jones, Chris Stapleton, and Stevie Wonder, her songs feel intimate yet universal, inviting listeners to see their own experiences mirrored in her narratives. As Pitch Perfect Music put it in 2025, Iyla has “a way of making vulnerability feel like strength.”

Her newest release, “Ain’t Linear”, is a love song with depth—a fusion of Americana, country, blues, and soul that captures the messy, beautiful realities of love. Produced by Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Simon Reid, the track is both warm and layered, a feel-good groove carrying just the right tinge of melancholy. “It’s a feel-good love song with a tinge of sadness,” Iyla explains. “I love adding emotional layers to my writing—something that feels multi-dimensional and complex, kind of like life. This song is about remembering what you have and choosing to fight for it, even when things get tough.”

Fans of Marcus King, Chris Stapleton, Ella Langley, and Jackson Dean will recognize the roots-driven storytelling and soulful vocal delivery that have become Iyla’s signature.

Since releasing her debut EP, Outlier, in 2023—which included the title track that became a finalist in the 25th Great American Song Contest—Iyla has steadily built critical momentum with nine singles that showcase her authenticity and craft. Her single “True North” was praised by Mesmerized as a window into an artist “who values authenticity and musical craftsmanship,” further proving Iyla’s knack for connecting deeply with her audience.

Featured across outlets such as The Big Music Takeover, A&R Factory, Mesmerized, Obscure, Broken Color Music, Pitch Perfect, Recording Artists Guild Digital Magazine, Buzz Slayers, and The Sounds Won’t Stop, Iyla Elise has firmly established herself as a rising star in the independent Americana scene.

With “Ain’t Linear”, Iyla Elise demonstrates once again that emotional depth, authenticity, and musical artistry are at the heart of her work—and that her journey is only just beginning.
