Brianna McGeehan has unveiled her new single “Hey Teacher”, a striking and assertive track that signals a new creative chapter ahead of her debut solo EP, due this July. Arriving after a successful 2025 tour, the release finds McGeehan stepping into her solo work with renewed clarity and intent, delivering one of her most direct and self-assured songs to date.
The single lands during a turbulent personal period for McGeehan and her family, who are preparing to relocate from the United States to her ancestral home of Ireland amid ongoing political unrest. Concerns over school shootings have also led her to withdraw her children from formal education for now, instead focusing on home learning where she is teaching them Gaeilge and reconnecting them with Irish language and culture. She has also cited Irish political figure Catherine Connolly as a meaningful influence during this transition, particularly in relation to cultural identity and civic voice.
At its core, “Hey Teacher” is a boundary-setting anthem—written as a clear response to the people and situations that bring chaos and toxicity into one’s life. The track channels frustration into something focused and empowered, framing personal limits not as walls of isolation, but as necessary acts of self-preservation and growth. It’s a song that speaks to choosing peace over disruption, even when that choice comes with discomfort.
McGeehan describes the track as her “boundary-setting spell,” a phrase that captures both its emotional charge and its sense of release. “It’s a gentle ‘f*ck off’ to those people that come into your world and bring toxicity and chaos,” she says, adding that while such moments require people to move on, they also leave behind important lessons. That duality—firmness paired with reflection—sits at the heart of the single’s impact.
Produced in collaboration with her husband Drew De Man and Colin Agnew, “Hey Teacher” balances its lyrical directness with a crisp, intentional sound that keeps McGeehan’s vocal front and centre. A radio edit of the track is also available, offering a more condensed version of its message as anticipation builds for the full EP this summer.

Really liked how this post kept things simple and didn’t drag on with extra filler. I could skim it, jump back a line or two, and still get what the point was without feeling lost. Halfway through I clicked around https://newimage.io/ out of curiosity, and it gave me the same kind of “straight to the point” feel, which I appreciate when I’m just trying to figure something out quickly. Nothing felt overly technical for no reason, and the flow stayed pretty smooth the whole way. Also, it’s nice when a page doesn’t fight you while you’re scrolling—no weird clutter or distracting stuff popping up. On the site, the clean layout and clear headings make it easy to spot what you…
